Yes, I am talking of Sreesanth. Being an ardent fan of cricket, there have been innumerable times I have cringed at the bully's tactics and menacing faces. One wondered why the cricket board was dragging its feet on reining him in. You would think he was better in the WWF ring than on a cricket pitch, yet you didn't want to rub him on the wrong side. Anyone who pulled such aggressive faces must be a real thug, you thought.
That was till a certain "obnoxious weed" decided to call his bluff. Our bully was reduced to copious tears ( was it just to get a comforting hug from the preity owner of the club ?) which didn't abate till all 150 cameras, 200 journalists and a billion TV spectators were treated to an embaressing display of a grown "man" weeping.
Next day, all newspapers and channels fell over themselves to detail out every second of the sordid saga for their poor unsuspecting readers/viewers who somehow missed out this bit of the action ( maybe the live cameras thought the cheerleaders were more interesting?). Judgement was passed, and the slapper said good bye to 3 crores. The slapper and the slapped hugged and made up, again for the benefit of the same cameramen and journalists and TV viewers.
Why did it look like a scene straight from kindergarten? Was it in honour of the mental age of the protagonists? One of them was punished (and how!) - the million dollar question, when will the other be?
When will we be spared those ugly faces?
